The Post Rock Motel is located in Lincoln, Kansas, the Post Rock Capital of Kansas. The Post Rock Motel features unique sandstone construction and is the only motel in Lincoln County. Lincoln County has several buildings on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and numerous historical landmarks listed on the Register of Historic Kansas Places (RHKP). Both the town of Lincoln and Lincoln County were named for Abraham Lincoln. Descendants of Abraham Lincoln were among the first settlers and Lincoln descendants still live in Lincoln County. The County is steeped with historical information about the original settlers and their conflicts with the Native Americans. In 1989 the Kansas State Legislature named Lincoln County "Post Rock Capital of Kansas".

Lincoln County also provides excellent fishing at nearby Wilson Lake and some of the best hunting in the country.
